We’re not for profit
Our focus is on the well-being and best interests of the children in our care. Our aim is to provide stable and loving homes, and any extra funds are reinvested into improving our agency and supporting foster families.
We’re local and accessible
People are usually a maximum of 40 minutes away from our office base and within easy reach of our team. Our close location allows us to provide unrivalled support to our foster families. We host regular face-to-face training and foster parent support sessions to help you build relationships and a sense of community.
Your dedicated Supervising Social Worker gives frequent face-to-face and remote support.
As a foster parent with Changing Futures Fostering, you will have a dedicated social worker assigned to you. Your social worker will be your go-to person, providing guidance, regular supervision, and support throughout your fostering journey. They will be there to address any questions, concerns, or needs you may have, making sure that you feel supported and empowered in your role.
Supervision is usually fortnightly in the first year, then monthly. This isn’t fixed, and we’ll support you fortnightly if needed because of particular challenges. We like to see you face to face where we can.
We provide 24/7 support
“I honestly cannot fault the agency. They have been amazing. At times, it is tough. I enjoy meeting other carers, and the one-to-one support I have had is beyond what I expected. They really do live by their values of being a not-for-profit agency. It is all about the carers and children.” Sue, Foster parent with Changing Futures.
You can always contact someone in an emergency! Your fostered children need you 24/7, so we absolutely make sure we’re there for you 24/7, too!
We train you in therapeutic parenting so you have the skills and confidence to foster children who’ve experienced trauma.
Through our detailed training programs, including a tailor-made ‘therapeutic’ training programme, you will gain valuable skills and insights into understanding the needs of children and young people. Our training goes beyond the basics, empowering you to make a positive impact on the lives of the children in your care. You can learn more about what therapeutic foster parent training is here.
We enable shared experiences
We’re often organise fun days out that give foster parents and young people the chance to have fun and bond through shared experiences. Sometimes this is a trip to the beach like at Seaton Carew, or art sessions at our centre. Recently everyone had a brilliant time in the forest in the pouring down rain. (honestly, the weather didn’t dampen the day, it made it really fun!).
If you are interested in fostering or are a current foster parent looking to transfer, we’d love to have a chat. Contact us today to start your fostering journey with Changing Futures Fostering.
