As an established charity in Teesside, Changing Futures North East felt that the development of a fostering service was the next step for them. CEO Graham Alton has worked relentlessly over the last couple of years to build on existing relationships, incorporate the core values of the charity and build a plan that puts foster parents, children and young people at the heart.
Changing Futures Fostering was developed to build on the existing work of the charity with families in the Hartlepool and Teesside area. From the earliest stages it became clear that the values and ethics of Changing Futures North East were an excellent fit with starting an independent fostering agency that was not profit making.
So not only was the idea born but the prospect of providing first class foster placements to children and young people where all of the money brought in to the agency went back in to support looked after children and their foster parents felt the right fit. The hard work was started and as you read on I hope you enjoy reading about our journey so far, it’s just the beginning.
