Changing Futures Fostering is a not-for-profit agency based in the North East of England. We operate in a radius of about 40 minutes or so away from our office headquarters in Hartlepool, covering areas such as Redcar, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Darlington, and even parts of Durham and up towards Washington and Sunderland. We are owned by a Charity, Changing Futures North East, whose roots have grown and expanded over the last 25 years after starting out by opening an estate-based youth club.

This is where our dedication to building communities and networks has sprung from, with fostering seeming to be the obvious step forward. With Changing Futures North East, we have managed to change the lives of many children and young people by helping to build them a caring, loving and nurturing environment where they can have fun, grow and develop into independent, happy young adults. This is where you come in! Our UK-based fostering agency works with social workers, foster parents, past foster children and behavioural specialists all around the North East to change the futures of vulnerable children and young people who are unable to safely live with their birth parents or relatives.

In a field where profit-making has become dominant, what differentiates us from other agencies is that we are proud to be beyond profit and ensure that every penny we earn goes back into the communities and families we support. Morally, we believe this is the only way it should be! Changing Futures Fostering is far from a flash agency with six-figure salaries that sees children in care as a commodity. Every decision we make is driven by the best interests and safety of the children, young people and foster parents that are part of our agency. We offer a range of training and support at every step of the fostering process, including therapeutic training, to help our foster parents to better understand and support the children in their care.

We understand that becoming a foster parent is a big decision that requires a lot of consideration, which is why our expert team of foster experts are here to guide and support you so that you can focus on what really matters – the opportunity to provide a child or young person with a second chance at happiness and stability!
